Zusammenfassung: | The fair trade advocated by the "International organizations for the labeling of fair trade" is a viable
way for small producers to achieve fair consideration for the responsibility they acquire by
maintaining stable and quality productions, in addition to establishing friendly production methods
with the environment. The respect of these norms makes possible the offer of organic products and
a greater economic benefit for the producers and the company in general. The approaches used by
companies and institutions regarding the fair trade principle of "Respect for the environment" generally only include controlling those practices that pollute or degrade the environment, such as
the use of chemicals or machinery that erode the soil, without consider extreme weather events that
impact crops, soils and may even cause loss of human life. The monitoring of agroclimatic
conditions creates guidelines for the efficient management of the agricultural system, the rational
use of environmental services derived from climate and the rationalization of environmental
resources. The work analyzes the application of fair trade in the principle related to the conservation
and protection of the environment and how it should be applied comprehensively in the cultivation
of cocoa (Theobroma Cacao L.), as it is a very important crop and subject to demanding
sustainability requirements, to carry out agricultural management that takes into account
agroclimatic information for decision making.
El comercio justo que propugnan las “Organizaciones internacionales para el etiquetado de comercio justo” constituye una forma viable de que los pequeños productores puedan alcanzar la consideración justa por el trabajo que realizan y la responsabilidad que adquieren al mantener producciones estables y de calidad, además de establecer formas de producción amigables con el medio ambiente. Los enfoques utilizados por las empresas e instituciones, respecto al principio del comercio justo de “Respeto al medio ambiente” generalmente sólo incluyen aquellas prácticas que contaminan o degradan el entorno, como el uso de químicos o de maquinarias que erosionan los suelos, sin considerar los eventos extremos que impactan las cosechas, los suelos y hasta pueden causar la pérdida de vidas humanas.
