Zusammenfassung: | Introduction: The present study had the objective of doing a preliminary analysis of the relationship between the physical quality handgrip force and the total ridge count calculating the heritability index and verifying a possible genetic predisposition of the handgrip force. Materials and Methods: The sample was composed by 09 pairs of twins male , being 05 monozygotic (MZ) with age between 12 to 22 years (14,6 ± 3,92 years) and 04 dizygotic (DZ) with age between 11 and 18 years (15,3 ± 2,87 years). The data collect has been done in the following sequence: finger print collect to determine the total ridge count (TRC) and manual statics handgrip force (MHF) through the manual dynamometric test (Handgrip). Besides the handgrip force being analyzed by the absolute force (AMHF, result of the average force) , it's been also evaluated the relative force (RMHF, absolute force divided by the body mass) . Results: The results have been indicated that the TRC (h2= 0,85) and absolute force (h2=0,87) has indicate a significative heritability of RMHF (h2 = 0,65) hasn't been significative. Discussion: For the studied sample it's been found that MHF has a relationship with the TRC because a higher TRC has been related to a AMHF higher while a lower TRC has been associated a higher RMHF. This can be a genetic indicator that individuals with high TRC have the tendency to show a higher absolute force and individuals with lower TRC have the tendency to show a higher relative force.
