Zusammenfassung:The planet is in danger of disappearing due to man's indiscriminate aggression on the environment, which is why it is a task of the first order to develop actions to save it. This becomes a problem that needs to find a solution through scientific research; In this context, the present article is written, which is aimed at the preparation of families of children from five to six years of age on environmental education for sustainable community development, highlighting the role that belongs to the family as an enhancer of integral development. the documents and surveyed the relatives and teachers of preschool. Afterwards, an interview was applied to managers, concluding that there are not enough offers of orientation of teaching staff to prepare families about environmental education for sustainable community development, no treatment is intended to environmental education in activities with the family, research and participation in scientific events of preschool education staff are limited in matters related to family preparation on environmental education for sustainable community development. The empirical study made it possible to confirm that the families have insufficient preparation and the actions of the school in the development of an environmental education towards the community are insufficient. El planeta está en peligro de desaparecer por la agresión indiscriminada del hombre sobre el medio ambiente, de ahí que constituya una tarea de primer orden el desarrollo de acciones que permitan salvarlo. Ello se convierte en un problema que necesita encontrar solución por vía de la investigación científica; en ese contexto se inscribe el presente artículo que está dirigido a la preparación de las familias de niños de cinco a seis años sobre educación ambiental para el desarrollo sostenible comunitario, resaltando el papel que le corresponde a la familia como potenciadora del desarrollo integral. Se revisaron los documentos y encuestaron a los familiares y maestras de preescolar. Posteriormente, se aplicó una entrevista a directivos, concluyéndose  que no existen suficientes ofertas de orientación del personal docente para preparar a las familias sobre la educación ambiental para el desarrollo sostenible comunitario, no se intenciona el tratamiento a la educación ambiental en las actividades con la familia, resultan limitadas las investigaciones y la participación en eventos científicos del personal docente de la Educación Preescolar, en temas relacionad
