Zusammenfassung:Objective: To study the contamination with enteroparasites of the Turbio River, because of the discharge of wastewater and untreated, for which a descriptive, transversal study Materials and Methods: 100 samples of water were analyzed at different heights, at 10 points of its route, which crosses the Barquisimeto City by its South end. The samples were collected according to the technique of Traviezo et al., with a clean injector of 60 ml, attached to a clear and clean hose of 300 cm in length. The samples were labeled, georeferenced and identifiedtheir macroscopic characteristics, being transferred to the Laboratory, to be centrifuged for 10 minutes at 3000 rpm and then discarded the supernatant, examining the sediment (pelex), from where it is taken with a clean Pasteur pipette, two drops for Observed with saline and lugol, being able to appreciate a high diversity and abundance of enteroparasites. Results: Chilomastix mesnili in 43,33% of the samples, Entamoeba coli 23,33%, Uncinaria sp., 26,67%, Blastocystis sp 13,33%, Entamoeba histolytica / E. dispar 10%, Pentatrichomonas sp,Giardia sp 6.67%, Endolimax nana, Strongyloides sp and Ascaris lumbricoides with 3.33%. The chemical contamination, of these waters, can destroy many enteroparásitos, diminishing the real frequencies. The results are in agreement with human prevalence of enteroparasites of the Lara State, where Blastocystis sp, is one of the most habitual, reason why it is one of the most frequent parasites. Conclusions: According to WHO, the presence of ≥1 Ascaris lumbricoides egg per liter of water served, disallows for irrigation or agricultural use, therefore, can not be reused, therefore, these waters are an epicenter of parasitic contamination for The Lara State.
