JULIÁN SÁNCHEZ-PRIETO: LOS ESTRENOS TEATRALES DE UN PASTOR-POETA

Julián Sánchez-Prieto, who was known as The Shepherd-Poet, was a shepherd born in Ocaña. He loved poetry and went to Madrid to recite his verses in El Ateneo. In that moment, he started to write verse dramas. His plays were represented in the best theatres and journals published many good articles about his comedies. The new poet founded his own troupe, they went to many cities and the most famous play became a film.
