La traslacion de la Divina Comedia de Fernandez de Villegas y un analisis descriptivo de su forma y mecanismos de traduccion

The aim of this article is to introduce and develop the general characteristics of Fernández de Villegas’ translation of the Divine Comedy (1515), i.e. the selected verse and stanza type, its style, and the translation mechanisms it employs. The purpose is not only to make an inventory of its resources, but also to offer a detailed analysis of this text style. This analysis will allow us, on the one hand, to understand the formal motivations of the changes introduced in relation to the source text and the type of mechanisms used in the translation and, on the other hand, to place this work within the poetics of “arte mayor.” El objetivo del presente artículo es el de introducir y desarrollar las características generales de la traducción de la Divina Comedia de Fernández de Villegas (1515), a saber, el tipo de forma estrófica y de verso elegido, su estilo y los mecanismos de traducción de los que se sirve. El propósito no es simplemente realizar un inventario de recursos, sino también ofrecer un análisis relativamente detallado del estilo de este texto que, por un lado, permita comprender las motivaciones formales de los cambios introducidos respecto del texto fuente (TF) y el tipo de mecanismos que se utilizan en el trasvase y, por el otro, que permita además ubicar esta obra dentro de la poética a la que se adscribe, esto es, la del arte mayor
