Historia de una sexualidad invisible: las “chicas raras”

Against all odds, the social environment generated by the Spanish Civil War and the subsequent arrival of the Francoist regime turned out to be the perfect breeding ground for the birth of a new character: 'the weird girl'. Facing the social stigma caused by the sentimental education preached by the regime and the moral principles of the National Catholicism, women began to develop their own confident, constraint-free speech. These ideas were embodied in a large number of texts written by women, in which female desire, friendship and loving relationships were finally visible. In order to build a consistent narrative line to validate those achievements, we shall recover testimonies to bring down the imposed, false insignificance and the silence. Contra todo pronóstico, el ambiente social que generó la guerra civil y la posterior llegada del Régimen franquista resultó ser el perfecto caldo de cultivo para el alumbramiento de una nueva identidad: «la chica rara». Ante la estigmatización social que provocaba la educación sentimental predicada desde el Régimen y la moral del nacionalcatolicismo, las mujeres comenzaron a elaborar un discurso propio libre de ataduras y complejos. La materialización de este hecho se tradujo en multitud de textos escritos por mujeres en los que se visibilizaba el deseo femenino, la amistad y las relaciones amorosas. Con el fin de establecer una línea narrativa coherente que trate de legitimar dichas parcelas conquistadas, rescataremos testimonios que nos permitan derribar la falsa intrascendencia impuesta y el silencio.
