Zusammenfassung:In order to know their floristic composition and structure, the Kakada river riparian´s forests in the mouth with the Erebato river, Venezuela, were analyzed. Six 0.1 ha plots were set and all the individuals with DAP > 10 cm were measured and identified. The results indicated, for a cumulative area of 0.6 ha, 36 families and 61 species. The plots were grouped in three types of forests of medium height (16-24 m). The average density was 738 individuals/ha and the basal area was of 29.4 m2/ha. According with the Family Importance Value (FIV) the highest important families are Fabaceae followed by Caesalpiniaceae, Chrysobalanaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Sapotaceae, Melastomataceae, Myristicaceae, Clusiaceae, Arecaceae and Mimosaceae. The IVI´s most important species in seasonally flooded forests in backswamps or depressions are Macrolobium acaciifolium and Licania pallida; in seasonally flooded forests in banks and levees they are Eperua jenmanii and Licania pallida and in infrequently flooded forests in terraces and levees Henriettea succosa andCupania cinerea. A general floristic inventory was done and 48 families and 97 genera among ferns, trees, shrubs, vines, epiphytes and herbs represented for 110 species were recognized. A list of the collected species is presented.
