Zusammenfassung: | People who require medical attention ought to make a
thoughtful choice about the hospital they ll receive service
in. To make this election possible, it s necessary to have the
required information on each institution s quality and efficiency
levels. However there are few investigations which
include results, either with an individual or a comparative
analysis between hospitals with similar characteristics, in
order for the patient to make the best decision. The most
important thing patients should take into consideration
while selecting a hospital is the warranty it offers that they ll
receive the best medical quality, the greatest satisfaction at
a fair price in a coherent way. Nowadays, because of this
lack of information, most patients select the health institution
where they ll receive their treatments based on physical
characteristics such as offered facilities, social status and the
image they have in the market (market image). The present document develops an analysis to know if the
hospitals with the highest quality and the best cost control
offer the best availability, are the most selected ones and,
therefore, receive more patients due to their medical attention.
This article also proposes the creation of a new model -that can
be applied to people, departments, services or organizationswhich
establishes a schematic structure of all the according to
results-evaluated services status, through a framework of four
quadrants. These quadrants define if the evaluated organizations
are strategic, developable, latent or inefficient. Which
quadrant are you or your institution located in?
The institution position in the quadrants is defined by
each variable indicators evaluation. Once this information
is obtained and expressed in the analysis formats, its design
makes the establishment of four types of continuous improvement
plans possible. The first one can develop a strategy to
improve the results of the indicators in general; the second
one can define actions to improve the indicators individually
in each hospital. The third one sets action lines to improve
the variable cost/quality for the group of hospitals that require
it. The fourth one defines the strategies to increase
the results for the variable of access/volume in the hospitals
defined for the research group.
Finally, it should be emphasized that this research made
the communication and negotiation platform - between
the ones who provide financial protection and those who
provide health service |
