Figure S2. Analysis of the relative abundance of constitutive and upregulated genes in tester and driver cDNAs. Genes were amplified with gene-specific primers using enriched tester and driver, synthesized tester and driver cDNAs as templates. Aliquots of PCR reaction mixture were taken at 20, 25, 30, and 35 cycles of amplification and the products were analyzed on 1% agarose gels as indicated. Constitutive genes are MoActin, EF-1α, β-tubulin, MGG_01160, MGG_04467, OsActin, OsCAT-A, and OsPdxB and upregulated genes are MoFLS, α/β hydrolase, MoSTL1, OsPR10a, OsJAmyb, OsTerpene, and OsPGIP1. “tester1” and “tester2” represent repeated PCR amplifications using enriched tester as template.
