Zusammenfassung: | Abstract Coparenting refers to mothers and fathers articulating their efforts to raise their children. Currently, there are no instruments to measure this construct in Brazil. In this study, the adequacy of a cross-cultural adaptation of the Coparenting Relationship Scale (CRS) (Escala da Relação Coparental - ERC) was evaluated, examining evidence of semantic, conceptual, cultural, idiomatic, operational and measurement equivalence, and face validity. Two independent research groups adapted the CRS and then produced a unified version, completed by 171 couples with at least one child between 4 to 6 years of age. The precision of the subscales, measured using Cronbach’s alpha, varied between .16 - .83. Four subscales had good precision in the Brazilian sample, but the precision of the “Division of Labor”, “Coparenting Closeness”, and “Coparenting Agreement” subscales needs to be improved and additional evidence of the validity of this instrument must be examined, so the CRS can be used in Brazil. |
