TaqMan validation of the expression of the selected biomarker candidates

TaqMan RT-PCR was performed using primer and probe sets specific to Galectin-3, Veriscan/Cspg2, and Socs3. IL-6, an acute responding gene that has not been selected from the microarray analysis, was also assayed as a control. The RNA samples are independent from the ones used for microarray analysis, and more time points were used in the PCR analysis. Data are expressed as mean ± standard error.
