Published by Oxford University Press. All rights reserved Linear pBR322 (50 nM) was cut in high salt EcoKI buffer, pH 7.9, with varying concentrations of StpA for 20 min. The EcoKI concentration was 67 nM. pBR322 DNA forms a distinct band of 4.4 kb (L) which is cut to form a smear of lower molecular weight. Lane 12 contains a linear 1 kb DNA ladder of sizes 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 kb from bottom to top.
