Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Lambert Eaton Myasthenia Syndrome (LEMS) is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by the presence of autoantibodies directed against voltage-gated calcium channels at the presynaptic neuromuscular junction. This disease manifests primarily as proximal muscle weakness, diminished reflexes, and autonomic dysfunction symptoms (bulbar symptoms). LEMS can be idiopathic or may be associated with neoplastic disease (paraneoplastic LEMS), the latter form being usually associated with small-cell lung cancer. This case report describes a paraneoplastic LEMS associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is considered an exceedingly rare phenomenon.
