Fregoli Syndrome is a rare psychiatric condition characterized by a false belief that some person currently present in the deluded person’s environment is a familiar person in disguise, in some cases this syndrome is the product of a dysfunction in the ability to identify themselves rather than an abnormal process of facial recognition. This is thought to be related to brain damage, and it’s associated with other mental health conditions.​
