Zusammenfassung: | This supplementary material contains 76 movies. The movies visualize the light refraction from smoke, which is added to the exhaled air during simulated breathing in a 3D printed upper airway geometry, during various forms of respiratory support. In total 38 conditions (the combination of the respiratory support method, the interface and the settings) were tested, with two views per condition. In the filenames, “Up” and “Front” refer to the camera view (top view and frontal view, respectively). Abbreviations of the respiratory support methods are defined in the article. It will be noted that smoke concentration drops during the movie. This is a result of the use of smoke cartridges, which produce smoke for a limited amount of time. Hence, the spread of exhaled air is clearest from the first (and second) breath. |
