The research was included studying the effect of radiation on food which separated into two parts; the theoretical part which has been focused on natural and industrial radiation and their effects on the food materials. An example of natural radiation is sunlight that shows some benefits and harms on food. Industrial techniques that deal with foodstuffs such as microwave ovens, testing devices and radiation preservation technology were also mentioned in this part. The research also demonstrates the harmful and dangerous effects of radiation resulting from nuclear accidents. Another part was the practical part which includes a practical study to measure the percentage of radon gas in domestic and imported coffee using the nuclear effect detector CR-39). 14 different kind samples of coffee were studied.
