Zusammenfassung: | Data Collection All the participants were informed by the researchers about the aim of the study and the ones who returned signed written consent forms participated in the study. The questionnaires were administered to participants in group settings in their training facilities before training sessions. Before the data collection the participants were informed that participation in the study was voluntary and the results would be kept confidential and would only be used for research purposes. Researchers also provided information about the questionnaires and how to respond to items in each questionnaire. Self-report questionnaire responses were anonymous. The participants spent about 10-15 minutes to fill in the questionnaires. The research protocol was carried out in accordance with the principles of Helsinki Declaration. Data analysis Preliminary analyses explanined by Tabachnick and Fidell (2007) were carried out. These analysis involved screening for out of range values, missing value analysis, and checking normality and reliability. Later, two-step procedure for structural equation modelling which was explained by Anderson and Gerbing (1988) was followed. Firstly, measurement model was tested by confirmatory factor analysis before testing the structural model. In the analysis maximum likelihood estimation was employed (ML) in AMOS 20.0. The measurement model consisted of latent variables including autonomy, competence, relatedness, antisocial behaviour towards opponent, antisocial behaviour towards teammate, prosocial behaviour towards opponent and prosocial behaviour towards teammate. χ2/df ratio < 3.00, CFI > .90, and RMSEA < .08 were used to evaluate the model fit. Later, structural equation modelling was used to analyse the effect of satisfaction of the basic psychological needs on prosocial and antisocial behaviors. |
