Supplementary Figure 5. Total protein in BAL is elevated in Fra-2 TG mice. Fra-2 TG mice or corresponding WT littermates were transnasally infected with 5 × 105 colony forming units (CFU) of Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pn. serotype 3, strain PN36, NCTC 7978) or sham infected with solvent (PBS) and monitored for 48 h. BAL total protein levels were elevated in sham infected Fra-2 TG mice as well as in infected Fra-2 TG mice (filled circle) compared to the respective WT mice (open circle).
