Circular plot of global migration flows between 50 countries in 2005-10

Zusammenfassung: | The plot shows estimates of global migration flows that I recently published in Science together with my co-author Guy Abel (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/343/6178/1520). I created the graphic using Circos (for more details see http://www.nikolasander.net/news/diy). Migration flows between the top 50 sending and receiving countries for the 5-year period 2005-10 are shown. The flow has the same colour as the origin country; and there's a white space between flow and destination country. Tick marks indicate the number of migrants in 100,000s. Only the top 75% of all flows are shown to avoid visual clutter. Visit our interactive data visualisation of the Global Flow of People at www.global-migration.info (created together with Ramon Bauer & Null2). |
