Zusammenfassung:A data visualization project based on self-reported social anxiety data submitted for the 2023-24 Data Bloom Data Viz contest at River Campus Libraries.Author's statement: As an anxious introvert, I documented my social battery every hour from 9am to 9pm for one week. How can we embrace familiar, user-friendly elements of our digital world (like the battery icon) to communicate abstract, complex human experiences?Project description: As an anxious introvert, I documented my social battery (the amount of energy a person has for socializing at a given moment) every hour for one week, and visualized the data through watercolor and animation. Each column tracks a day of the week 12/19/23 to 12/25/23 and each row marks an hour 9am to 9pm. The visualization, currently on view in Sage Art Center's ASIS gallery, asks how can we embrace familiar, user friendly elements of our digital world (like the battery icon) to communicate abstract, complex human experiences. This visualization was awarded the People's Choice prize.
