Wavelength-dependent mass absorption coefficient, and albedo data from Redmond Roche and King (2022). The oil droplets in this study are considered to have a log-normal size distribution that is representative of weathered oil according to experimental measurements by Otremba (2007). The log-normal distribution is centred on a droplet radius size of 0.05 µm and spans a range of 0.05–5 µm, in line with Haule and Freda (2016).
