Zusammenfassung: | VOLCAT is a volcanic ash remote sensing software tool developed by NOAA. This dataset contains satellite retrievals obtained from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology's implementation of NOAA's VOLCAT system for selected case studies. The retrievals are based on the method of Pavolonis et al. (2013). The data is based on MTSAT (for the older case studies) and Himawari-8 satellite sensors. The dataset comprises 10 netcdf files: 1. Kelut.nc - 13 February 2014 eruption of Kelut (MTSAT) 2. SangeangApi.nc - 30 May 2014 eruption of Sangeang Api (MTSAT) 3. Manam.nc - 31 July 2015 eruption of Manam (Himawari-8) 4. Rinjani.nc - 4/5 November 2015 eruption of Rinjani (MTSAT) 5. Soputan.nc - 4/5 January eruption of Soputan (Himawari-8) 6. Rinjani2.nc - 1 August eruption of Rinjani (Himawari-8) 7. Tinakula.nc - 20 October 2017 eruption of Tinakula (Himawari-8) 8. Merapi.nc - 11 May 2018 eruption of Merapi (Himawari-8) 9. Manam2.nc - 8 December 2018 eruption of Manam (Himawari-8) 10. Agung.nc - 24 May 2019 eruption of Agung (Himawari-8) Pavolonis, Michael J., Andrew K. Heidinger, and Justin Sieglaff.
