Zusammenfassung: | This repository contains the experimental data about light ageing experiments performed on reconstructed paper samples with cochineal lakes. These experiments were performed by Gyu Yeong Lim in the context of her Master's thesis at the University of Amsterdam (Conservation and Restoration Department - Book and Paper Specialisation), under the supervision of Leila Sauvage (University of Amsterdam), Suzan de Groot and Gauthier Patin (Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands) . The master of Gyu can be found via the following link: here !
The light ageing experiments involved two types of method for which the data are available in this repository:
Light ageing inside a xenotest device
Microfading analyses with two different devices
The xenotest data are stored inside csv files and named as followed: ___. Group number 01 (G01) corresponds to the exposed areas while group number 02 (G02) corresponds to the covered areas of the samples. Except for the blue wool standard samples, there are two csv files for each sample Id - one for the exposed area and another one for the covered area. During each measurement round, three measurements were performed on each area. The data shared in this repository are the average and standard deviation values.
The microfading data are stored inside excel files inside two folders: interim and processed. Each interim file corresponds to a single microfading analyses and is named as followed: ______. A processed file relates to one or more interim files on which further data processing has been performed. For each sample and each device, three microfading analyses were performed for which the mean and standard deviation values were computed. Thus in our case, each processed data file corresponds to the average values of three interim files. The processed files are named as followed: ______. The analysisId parameter is constructed as followed: MF.., e.g: MF.FR-G.G02, this means that the file corresponds to all the interim microfading (MF) analyses of group G02 performed on object FR-G.
More information about the preparation of the samples and the parameters of the ageing experiments can be found in Gyu's thesis (section 3).
