Zusammenfassung: | We present the dataset on frugivory interactions among tree and animal species in Afrotropical forests used in the article titled “Local people enhance our understanding of Afrotropical frugivory networks" by Durand-Bessart Clémentine, Etienne François Akomo-Okoue, Ghislain W. These data come from an ethnoecological study on local people's knowledge of frugivory interactions. Frugivory interactions were gathered following structured interview methods based on photographic guides of the targeted species. The frugivory interactions related here concerned 285 trees and 100 frugivore species present in the Gabonese forest. Species characteristics are also included.
This local ecological knowledge was acquired following the code of Ethics from the ISE (The ISE Code of Ethics - International Society of Ethnobiology), and then some restrictions were applied to protect the anonymity of informants following the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). |
