Zusammenfassung: | A reasonable approach to cope with increasing car traffic is the application of large-scale car traffic management solutions. Dense and widely applied car traffic monitoring is an important key prerequisite for this.Established solutions like e.g. induction loops, video-camera-based systems, or radar, do not suit all the needs with regard to installation effort, privacy, and cost efficiency. The use of off-the-shelf wireless chipsets for sensing purposes is a promising step towards cost reduction of traffic monitoring systems. It was already shown that the temporal analysis of the Received Signal Strength (RSS) within a wireless network nearby a street allows to monitor the traffic on the road quite accurately. This dataset contains RSS measurements that were recorded within a two-point Bluetooth network installed nearby a two-lane local road. The experimental setup, the used Bluetooth sensor devices, as well as the structure of the provided data files are described in detail in the provided README file. |
