Zusammenfassung: | Coronavirus is enveloped positive-sense, single-stranded RNA viruses belonging to the Coronaviridae family. Diabetes has been identified as a strong predictor of disease severity in COVID-19. Healthy individuals have low levels of circulating D-dimer, whereas elevated levels are found in conditions associated with hypercoagulation and increased fibrinolytic activity. This study aims to study D-dimer levels in people with diabetes compared to those without diabetes among patients with COVID-19.
Marked elevation in D-dimer levels in patients with diabetes compared to non-diabetes. D-dimer may be considered a reliable parameter for evaluating the prognosis and predicting mortality. |
