Zusammenfassung: | A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that occurs from rapid head movement during contact sports, road and industrial accidents, fall, and battlefield, which makes cellular and chemical changes in the brain that cannot be detected easily. The measurement of acceleration is one of the quickest methods for making on-field decisions regarding deployment and initial diagnosis. With this in mind, this paper describes the development of a low-cost, real-time device that can be attached to a helmet and observe the head acceleration. This is achieved by sending the data over a WiFi connection to a web browser of a device (Pc or Mobile phone) connected to the same network so the user who observes the data can call a doctor to check concussion symptoms. The device uses an angular and linear accelerometer connected to IoT based microcontroller(WeMos D1 mini). It is programmed using Arduino IDE to enable the task of observing head acceleration data in real-time via an HTML page. The application of this device can be in different areas such as sports, mine workers, and activities requiring helmets. |
