Orthoptera and Mantodea in the Continental biogeographical region and adjacent areas of European Russia

The dataset includes 7095 occurrences from 1186 points of European Russia. Occurrences belong to 94 species of Orthoptera and one species of Mantodea. For some points, the data span a long time during the year or several years. In some species and points, the data are given separately for adults and nymphs, and for males and females. Insects were sampled by diverse methods: sweepnet, pitfall traps, pan traps, Malaise traps, beer traps, window traps, hand collection. Some species were found and recognized by acoustic signals. A bulk of specimens were collected by authors during 2001-2023. We also elaborated collections of Parks Directorate of Kaluga Region, Kaluga State Pedagogical University, Mordovia State Nature Reserve, Sergey Alekseev, Mikhail Bakanov, and other researchers of 1977-2023. Sample plots belong both to low-disturbed and anthropogenic landscapes. The dataset provides information on occurrence of Orthoptera and Mantodea species in this part of Europe, their abundance, seasonal dynamics, and availability of different methods to catch these species.
