Herpetofauna specimen preserved at Natural History Museum, Nepal

This database consists of 394 specimen of 114 herpetofauna species, preserved in Natural History Museum, Swayambhu, Kathmandu, Nepal. The herpetofauna collection in this database includes 324 specimen belonging to class Reptilia, and 69 belonging to class Amphibia. Among the Amphibia, 68 specimen belong to Order Anura, and 1 to Order Caudata. Whereas, among Reptilia, 8 specimen belong to Order Crocodilia, 308 to Squamata and 8 to Testudines. The specimen have been collected from different sources that include personal collections, donations and gifts from various organizations such as Central Zoo of Nepal, and educational institutes like Amrit Science College and Padmakanya College.
