Zusammenfassung:5G scenarios entail stringent requirements such as ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability. Consequently, bringing computing, storage and networking resources to the edge of the network has become a key element for 5G deployment. However, capital and operational expenditures need to be carefully taken into consideration to achieve cost-effectiveness in this scenario. With edge nodes geographically distributed, efficiency is directly linked to the placement and capacity planning of such nodes. To develop an efficient strategy to deploy Edge Computing infrastructure for 5G services, the first step is to define thorough site selection criteria. Therefore, this paper proposes a set of parameters tailored to the evaluation and optimization of the edge nodes location selection process under a merged 5G and Edge Computing ecosystem.
