Expression of IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA) in Oral Epithelial Dysplasia and Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Zusammenfassung:Two kinds of molecules of α and β are present in IL-1, and close connection with a tumor is reported. In addition, in conjunction with IL-1, IL-1 RA which has a domain to bind an IL-1 receptor, and do not have a signal activation part is known. In late years correlation IL-1 RA and a tumor are reported, and it develops that, in addition, two isoform, intracellular type and secreted type, are present in IL-1 RA. Of these, it is known that intracellular type of IL-1 RA in epithelial cells mainly, but, as for the connection with carcinoma, there are many parts which are yet non-elucidation. We performed immunhistochemical analysis using frozen section of oral squamous cell carcinoma, and find a possibility that localization of IL-1 RA and carcinogenesis are closely related. In addition, as a result of IL-1 RA gene expression analysis in tissue by a laser microdisection and real time PCR method, the expression level of IL-1 RA is significantly decreased in poorly-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. From these results, it is suggested that the localization of IL-1 RA in epithelial cell and the gene expression level of IL-1 RA is closely related to oral squamous cell carcinoma.
