Zusammenfassung: | The relationship between the regularity of the scatterers' distribution and the statistics of interference patterns such as the speckle appearing on ultrasonic 2-dimensional echograms is examined. Assuming that the phantoms are constructed from the point scatterers whose distribution is both regular and random, computer simulation is performed in which the degree of randomness is a parameter. It is found that the degree of the regularity of the scatterers' distribution can be estimated from the signal to noise ratio of the echogram when the density of the scatterers is known. |
