Zusammenfassung: | This article adds a chapter to the history of the Correctional Service of Canada. The author touches upon a number of issues, most notably: 1) how the creation of a results driven, value based organisation develops a natural thirst for more knowledge and the desire to have its own research unit; 2) the importance of trust between practitioners and researchers; 3) the profile of "the ideal" research unit; 4) the need for broad internal-external collaboration; 5) the relationship between research and policy; 6) the organisation's responsibility towards its researchers; and 7) some of the correctional results achieved as a result of good internal research. |
