Zusammenfassung:The circulation desk is like the library's reception room where the patrons judge the library by the type of services received and its general atmosphere. Circulation consists of the first-step in the library operation and leads to the good relationship and acts as a lilaison between the library and the user. A good selection of personnel must be made and allocated to the circulation desk with the following points put into consideration. A. Be fully acquainted with the holdings in the library. B. Clearly understand the request made by each patron. Capable of supplying the required material at the right time and place in an understandable form with not too much nor too less information. C. Capable of making good relations with other departments of the library. The decision of an open or closed-stack is another administrative problem which both system have their respective benefits. A self-service system is applied to some material in the library and the restriction to the number of books which may be borrowed has been abandoned. The library utilizes 5 different colored circulation cards as well as 7 different colored signals attached to the cards giving simple identification of the date circulated or if out to the binders. The author's imagination and hope is that in the near future, all inter-library loan services of book-copying from any part of the world can be made easily accessible utilizing the satellite and television processes.
