Zusammenfassung:This article reflects on the authors’ attempt to develop an alternative formula to the neoliberalized, heteropatriarchal university for the collaborative translation of a canonical feminist philosophical text. The authors argue that the collective process of translating Judith Butler’s Bodies that Matter is a kind of feminist-queer academic activism, dictated by a broadly understood solidarity – with Butler’s text, but also with feminist politics, whose values guided the collective at every stage of the work. Looking at the selected translatory strategies, the authors discuss the possibilities and limitations of such activism in the context of the realities of academic work today. Keywords: translation, feminism, queer, Judith Butler, neoliberalism, hetero norm
