Zusammenfassung: | The electronically controlled fuel injection system (EFI) has been originally developed to improve the spray combustion at low load, where the fuel injection pressure is reduced compared to that of the design point at full load, emitting more smoke and particulate matter (PM). In this paper, various possibilities for the application of EFI in marine engines are introduced, with regards to NOx reduction and improvement of low-grade fuel combustion. The effects on spray combustion are demonstrated using a specially designed visualization test engine. |
