Zusammenfassung: | Maintenance and inspection work on board during a voyage for a ship in service is limited to a minimum recently, due to the rationalization of work and the reduction of labor, and regular maintenance and inspection work is usually done while the ship is in port or in dock. Higher reliability, as well as automatic surveillance, detection of abnormal condition and diagnosis of troubls have become necessary for engines and auxiliary machinery accordingly. We have developed a technique to predict and to diagnose troubles on fuel injection valves and exhaust valves through the analysis of exhaust gas and the detection of the variation in engine performance. These engine components need comparatively frequent maintenance and inspection, though they are important ones among components of diesel engines. This paper describes the fruit of The Technological Research Associaiton of Highly Reliable Marine Propulsion Plant. |
