Brief Report: Cognitive Functioning and Performance on Addition and Subtraction Word Problems

The question addressed in this paper is, Do children in the third grade who differ in cognitive-processing capacity solve addition and subtraction word problems differently? Information from a more extensive study (Romberg & Collis, 1983) was used to examine this question.
