Zusammenfassung: | The aim of this paper is to analyze, via periodic homogenization techniques, the effective behavior of a non-linear system of coupled reaction-diffusion equations appearing in the modeling of calcium dynamics in living cells under the action of buffering proteins. We obtain, at the macroscale, a calcium bidomain model governing the evolution of the concentration of the calcium ions and of the buffers in the cytoplasm. |
