Zusammenfassung: | Faculty working in research-intensive university environments find a variety of challenges to their time, energies, and resources, including finding balance between the traditional areas of teaching, research, and service. In most research universities, the research focus becomes all encompassing, and institutional service commitments are called into question. The current study of over 500 faculty in research university environments demonstrates the need for shared governance to be clear and purposeful in its work and intentions in order to muster faculty support. |
