Zusammenfassung: | A 44 year-old woman with multiple liver tumors was diagnosed with a submucosal tumor in the posterior wall of the gastric antrum by gastrointestinal endoscopy. Because we could not exclude malignant submucosal tumor and multiple liver metastases in endoscopic biopsy, X-ray examination, ultrasonography, computed tomography, or serum CEA (13.6ng/dl), we conducted distal gastrectomy and partially resected liver tumors. Macroscopically, the gastric tumor was elastic, soft, and covered with normal mucosa. The cut surface presented a cystic capsule filled with papillary epithelium. The definitive pathological diagnosis was gastric duplication cyst for the gastric submucosal tumor and adenomatous hyperplasia for the liver tumors. Gastric duplication cyst is a benign congenital anomaly mainly found in childhood with enteric disorders. Although asymptomatic adult duplications are rare, they should be considered in the differential diagnosis of gastric submucosal tumors. |
