Zusammenfassung: | A 71-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for a lower abdominal tumor. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a large cystic tumor extending from the right lower abdomen to the pelvis. Under the diagnosis of a right ovarian tumor, a gynecologist performed a laparotomy. However, the tumor originated in the ileocecal area. Angiography of the superior mesenteric artery showed tumor vessels branching from the ileocolic artery. We performed an ileocecal resection. The histopathological diagnosis was malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the mesentery of the terminal-ileum. The patient has remained disease-free 6 months after the resection. |
