A Case of Peutz-Jeghers Type Polyp in the Small Intestine Which Caused Intussuception Repeatedly, Treated by Laparoscopic Surgery

Zusammenfassung:A 23-year-old woman admitted with abdominal pain was found in ultrasonography (US) and computed tomography (CT) to have a target-shaped thickening of the small intestine suggesting intussusception. Small intestinal radiography showed a polypoid lesion in the jejunum. Upper and lower endoscopic examination did not show abnormal findings. The tumor was resected by laparoscopic surgery. Histopathologically, the polyp was a Peutz-Jeghers polyp of the jejunum. We find laparoscopy useful in treating tumors of the small intestine.
