Zusammenfassung:Background : Metastases to the uterine cervix from extragenital cancer is uncommon. We report a case of sigmoid colon cancer metastasizing to the uterine cervix. Case : A 70-year-old woman who had undergone surgery for sigmoid colon cancer 10 months previously was admitted for atypical genital bleeding. A tumor 2.5 cm in diameter was detected by ultrasound, and cytological/histological examinations suggested uterine metastasis from sigmoid colon cancer. Extended hysterectomy was performed, and immunohistochemical analysis of the resected tumor revealed that the tumor was CK7 (−), CK20 (+), p53 (+), ER (−), PgR (−), MUC2 (+) and CDX2 (+) ; based on these findings, the tumor was diagnosed as metastastic cancer of the uterine cervix from sigmoid colon cancer. The postoperative course was uneventful, and more than five years after the hysterectomy, the patient remains alive without recurrence. Conclusion : The patient reported herein showed atypical genital bleeding due to uterine metastasis from sigmoid colon cancer. In this case, cytological and histological examinations, as well as immunohistochemical analyses were useful for the diagnosis of both the primary and metastatic cancers. Although metastatic involvement of the uterus was noted, since it was a solitary metastasis, hysterectomy alone improved the prognosis of the patient.
