Fish species composition in Khe Lang Stream,Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province

Khe Lang Stream is a tributary of the Lam River with 23 km in length located in Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province. There not having been any research on fish in this area, so far. The results of this study have recorded 35 species of freshwater fish, belonging to 27 genuss, 16 families and 6 orders. Of these, the common carp was the most dominant order (6 families, 13 genus, 18 species). The favorite habitats of 29 species were flowing rivers; those of other species were ponds and lakes. None of above species was listed in the Red Book of Vietnam 2007 whereas 21 species were named in the IUCN Red List published online on 25 August 2018.
