O legado de Galbinski: As premissas de projeto das edificações monumentais da biblioteca central e do restaurante universitário da Universidade de Brasília

The architecture was developed in such a way as to meet the needs of society. It, which in the early days was intended to serve only as safe shelters, currently must also promote harmony, beauty, comfort and well-being. Knowing this, at the time of the construction of Brasília, an imposing university was thought of in which the library and the restaurant were of equal magnitude, to represent its professors, researchers, students and technicians. This challenge fell to the architect José Galbinski, who designed two monumental buildings: the Central Library and the University Restaurant of the University of Brasilia. In 2016, an in-person interview was conducted with Professor Dr. Galbinski at his workplace in which information was collected about the process of creating these works, focusing mainly on his design premises. Therefore, the main objective of this scientific work is to share such information from when these works were still only in the realm of ideas and to share the story of the creator José Galbinski and his creatures (Library and Restaurant). To quantify the success of these premises, questionnaires were answered by its users, who evaluated the degree of comfort of these constructions. These results of the questionnaires will be explained shortly. A arquitetura foi desenvolvida de forma a atender às necessidades da sociedade. Nos primórdios a arquitetura tinha a finalidade de servir apenas como abrigos seguros, atualmente deve também promover harmonia, beleza, conforto e bem-estar. Sabendo disso, na época da construção de Brasília, pensou-se numa universidade imponente na qual a biblioteca e o restaurante fossem de igual grandeza, de modo a representar seus professores, pesquisadores, alunos e técnicos. Tal desafio coube ao arquiteto José Galbinski, que projetou duas edificações de porte monumentais: a Biblioteca Central e o Restaurante Universitário da Universidade de Brasília. Em 2016 uma entrevista em pessoa foi realizada com o Professor Dr. Galbinski em seu local de trabalho, no qual foram levantadas informações sobre o processo de criação dessas obras, focando principalmente nas suas premissas de projeto. Portanto o principal objetivo desse trabalho científico é compartilhar tais informações de quando essas obras ainda estavam apenas no plano das ideias e, também, compartilhar a história do criador José Galbinski e das suas criaturas (Biblioteca e Restaurante).
