Zusammenfassung: | In Quebec, with the implementation of the Ethics and Religious Culture Program, the deconfessionalization of public education was attained. However, this major change required equally majorchanges in teacher training practices. This is the subject ofthe present paper. First, we present an overview of thisprogram. Second, we confront this program with theactual training followed by the teachers. Finally we highlight the significant gap between what was announcedin terms of training and the training in fact provided toteachers and future teachers. The paper suggests that thisgap is still a major obstacle to the teachers' appropriation ofthe program and, consequently, to its effectiveimplementation. |
