Improving Quality of Life for Children With Cerebral Palsy in Vietnam: Implementation of Intensive Models of Rehabilitation

Date Presented 03/27/20 The aims were to determine if two models of pediatric constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) could be delivered with acceptable fidelity in Vietnam and if CIMT could improve the motor skills of Vietnamese children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Therapists successfully partnered with families to implement CIMT and children in both low- and high-dose CIMT groups showed improvements in performance of everyday activities. This study provides insight into how pediatric CIMT can be provided in areas where resources may be limited (rural areas).
