Zusammenfassung: | Some mechanical conditions which affect the number of crimps per unit length of a sliver have been investigated by using a stuffing box of a closed type. A linear relationship has been found to exist between the number of crimps and the apparent density of the sliver near the nip point of the calender roller. There is aslight tendency that the highter the rate of sliver-feedine, the less the crimping of the sliver, even if the sliver has the same apparent density near the nip point. |
